Samoan Community

 

First established March 1978 and since then have been active in the parish.

GROUPS OPERATING are the following:
Sunday School
Mother’s Club
Community
Choir
 Youth

SUNDAY SCHOOL

  • Sundays 9 to 10.00 am (except school holidays)
  • Age range: Preschool-17 years.

Teachers attend courses on the following:

  • Scripture/Liturgy,
  • Participate in retreats at Malaeola Catholic Centre, Mangere or Franciscan Friary, Hillsborough
  • Children & youth perform for the elderly.

MOTHER’S CLUB

Meets first Saturday of every month at 4 pm

Works include

  • Rosary/Scripture Reading
  • Home visits (elderly)
  • Hospital visits (members or members’ relatives)

COMMUNITY

Monthly meeting in the classroom after 10.30 am Mass on last Sunday

Attend seminars on:

  • Scripture/Liturgy/Church History
  • Samoan traditions/Enculturation

CHOIR

  • Sings at 10.30 am Mass in our parish last Sunday of every month
  • Rostered to sing for Samoan Mass, first Sunday of every month at Malaeola Samoan Catholic Centre, Mangere
  • Attends to other Samoan Catholic Communities for funerals
  • Choir practice at 7 pm last Wednesday of every month

YOUTH

  • Attend youth rallies and retreats
  • Attend youth camps in which youth prepare Mass, singing, etc.

6.00 to 6.30 pm Reconciliation

6:00pm Novena to the Perpetual Succour. Rosary before Novena.

Thursday
6:00pm Mass

Friday
9:00am Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament
10:00am Mass followed by Divine Mercy Devotions
6:00pm Mass First Friday

PARISH NOTICES

BEING IN LEVEL 3, THE CHURCH  DOORS AND PARISH OFFICE ARE CLOSED.  ALL PARISH ACTIVITIES ARE CANCELLED.
